Occasionally, a session will just change my brain chemistry.

Genevieve was one such session.

We met at Fort Pickens on a quiet afternoon—just before golden hour, when the light softens and the breeze off the Gulf picks up. Genevieve is a dancer, and it shows in every movement she makes. Graceful, poised, present. She came with a vision: cinematic, moody, dramatic. Not my usual editing style, but something about her energy made me say, "Let's go for it."

And I'm so glad I did.

This session cracked something open creatively. It pushed me in ways I didn’t expect, and the result? Easily some of the top five photos I’ve ever taken. No question. There was magic in the way she moved through the architecture of the old fort. There was emotion in every frame—depth, story, soul. Her quiet confidence and willingness to trust the process made this session unforgettable.

I don’t say this lightly: these images changed the way I see my own work. Sometimes, taking a risk leads you exactly where you need to go.

Genevieve, thank you for showing up fully and trusting me to tell your story. You reminded me why I do this.

Here’s to dancing through life with purpose, light, and just a touch of drama.
