How to prep, what to bring, and how to maximize!
It's no secret that Senior Sessions are some of my favorites to shoot. This is SUCH an exciting time for you, I love getting to help you celebrate this HUGE achievement!! In this post I want to help layout for you how to prep and pack for your session so you get the most out of your photos!
What to Wear
Senior Sessions include 3-5 outfits, and you can definitely get HUGE bang for your buck in terms of variety if you plan a little bit here. Some tips for choosing your outfits:
- BE YOURSELF. Don't choose outfits you aren't 100% comfortable in, and that you would actually wear! Whether it's dressy or casual, choosing pieces that feel like the real YOU is the most important thing.
- Girls: If you want to have your hair and makeup done beforehand, go for it! It's 100% not necessary though, and I would encourage you to refrain from being adventurous with it this time...again, you should look and feel like yourself! We're celebrating the real you here :)
- Include some branded items for your high school or college-to-be! A casual outfit that includes a tee shirt from your school/sport/club/etc or your post-graduation plans is a great option for one of your outfits. On that note...
What to Bring
In addition to using your outfits to highlight some of the things that are unique to you, you are welcome to bring along items/props as well! Here are some of my favorites:
- An instrument/piece of gear from your extracurricular activities and hobbies
- Your pet! YEP. Bring 'em. Or if they're not easy to "bring" (like a horse?) we can go to them!
- People important to you! Your bestie, your mom+dad, etc. You probably didn't make it here alone!
- Again--high school and/or college gear! Pennants, flags, t-shirts, etc. Commemorate the years you spent representing your school, and let's get you a couple of amazing shots to announce your post-grad plans to your family and friends!
- ANYTHING else that you want to highlight as a part of who you are and what's important to you!
The idea here is custom, unique, and YOU
Let's make YOUR Senior photos all about you, as they should be, and feel free to get creative with it!!
